The Most Romantic London Hotel

hotel doorThis secret hotel has been voted the most romantic hotel in London. It is small and stylish, full of character and lavish. It’s something you would expect to see in a movie, but it does exist. Couples who are looking for a quiet and luxurious place where they can enjoy each other’s company will be most happy with this boutique hotel.

It’s one of the few remaining early houses in this area that has been repaired and renovated in order to bring this hotel to life. Period charm are the two words that describe this hotel best. There are stone flagged floors, open fires and antique furniture that will make you want to stay in and forget about the world outside.

The bedrooms are traditionally furnished with paneled walls and rugs. There are two meeting rooms decorated with old paintings, prints and antiques. There is even a library which can hold up to 10 people – don’t imagine a silly old library, this one is as modern as libraries get, it was an overhead projector and screen, a laptop and many more state-of-the-art electronics. All the rooms have complementary Wi-Fi Internet access.

Another great room in this secret hotel is the drawing room which has enormous carved mahogany doors which open into an amazing sitting area with silk fabrics and antiques. This room in particular is even more lavish and luxurious than the rest and you will love spending time here, be it for pleasure, or business.

In the Local Area

This secret hotel is right at the center of the Clerkenwell, right between West End and the City of London (the central business district), so you can get the best of both worlds. If and when you choose to leave the hotel, you can visit the West End and maybe even go see a play.

If you would like to take a brisk 10 minute walk, then do so and you will arrive at London’s most modern and famous museum, the Tate Modern where you can admire works by Dali (they have the world famous Lobster Telephone), Picasso, Duchamp and Pollock.

Even closer to the hotel than the Tate Modern is the Bank of England, so if you’ve got a day off, you should pop into the City of London for a look at one of the most modern city centers in the world.

If you’d like to use the metro, you should know that the nearest station is the Farringdon or if you are a more private person, the hotel can arrange for a car to meet you at the airport.
