In the local area…

The metro offers convenient access to all popular attractions… Our top pick is the Burk Khalifa, the tallest building in the world and surrounded by fantastic shopping and entertainment centres. The panoramic views from the observation deck (on the 124th floor!) are unmatched globally. The building also boasts a fantastic 150 metre water fountain (illuminated by 6,600 lights) and a twenty-seven acre pleasure park!

Golfers will be spoilt for choice with the hotel offering good access to most of Dubai’s top courses. We recommend a trip to the Al Badia Golf Club, an oasis themed course complete with eleven lakes, streams, waterfalls and ponds (it’s advisable to call ahead to book and enquire regarding fees and availability).

For some cultured shopping, the traditional souks (markets) are located in Deira and Bur Dubai. The two areas are separated by a small river, but there is easy boat access across. From here one can buy anything from gold and spices to perfumes and textiles!

For some more conventional retail therapy, do not miss the Dubai Mall, one of the largest shopping centres in the world. Aside from the many boutique and designer shops, the mall is home to its own aquarium and fabulous water fountains.

Enjoy!
