For families

The Norman Foster designed City Hall is a must see for all budding architects in the family.  OK – it may look like a pile of records that is about to fall over, but this iconic, modern building is a marvel and parts of it are open to the public during weekdays. It also holds regular exhibitions all with a London centric theme.

The Underground Cookery School was opened to offer cooking lessons in a fun, informal way where after you have cooked; you can sit down and sample the fruits of your efforts. On arrival, homemade canapés and champagne are proffered to make your lesson go with a swing.  A fun evening for a date with a new or old love.

For culture

Step back in time to one of London’s oldest and most notorious prisons.  The Clink Prison Museum is an interactive hands on type place where you can experience the medieval torture devices and other accoutrements.  Not for the faint hearted, this grisly exhibition lets you experience life on the inside…..enter if you dare.

For shopping

Louis Vuitton Maison is the multimillion pound flagship London store of this designer.  Expect lots of shiny surfaces, minimalist but still sumptuous decor and polls of light illuminating the high end, if you need to ask you can’t afford it goods.

For eating out

Dans le Noir is a brilliant dining concept and one which you probably thought you would never try, but it really is a must do!  Eating in the dark – yes, you heard correctly, is an experience which overloads your senses.  The taste of the food is heightened by the darkness and once you get over the idea, or the giggles, it is an enjoyable if somewhat bizarre dining experience.

For nightlife

1920 is a trendy and hip hangout in which you can shoot pool until the small morning hours, drink  all American lagers and beers and generally look very cool while doing it. With a resident DJ and original hung artworks that change every six months, the vibe in this bar is young and fresh.  The basement boasts a cinema and bar as well, which plays all the latest blockbuster movies.
