Covent Garden and Leicester Square are the entertainment areas of the West End. Head to Covent Garden for some great shopping and street entertainment in the plaza from some of London’s finest street performers, which include mime acts and magic shows. Leicester Square, with it’s numerous cinemas is host to some of the biggest premieres in the world; but if you don’t fancy cinema, then head to one of the many theatres in the area for shows such as the award winning ‘Lion King’.

Piccadilly Circus has more to offer than just it’s famous luminous advertising board. Just a stone’s throw away is London’s busiest comedy venue, The Comedy Store.

If it’s shopping your after, head to Oxford Street for over 300 retailers and a mixture of boutique, designer and highstreet. Highlights include Selfridges department store and the flagship Nike Town. When you’re all shopped out, sample local or international cuisine at the hundreds of restaurants, pubs and cafes in the area.

London’s Chinatown, near Tottenham Court road and Leicester Square tube stations, is bursting with delicious restaurants and traditional Chinese shops. When you’ve filled up on dumplings and dim sum, why not check out the numerous bars and clubs in the area. Treat yourself to a cocktail at Milk and Honey, strictly members only unless you book a day in advance, but worth the wait to sample some classic cocktails in a ‘prohibition style’ venue complete with jazz and ragtime music.
