Hotel Door

A brand new hotel (opened in 2012) located in middle of Helsinki offers its guests a colorful and inspiring environment to relax, create and do business. Let the sea enchant you, because this secret hotel is right by the sea, so if you want comfort and a view to write home about, choose this hotel! Big bonus: it is insanely close to popular attractions.

This secret hotel has a passion for healthy living, and offers an amazing gym and gives you the option of renting a bicycle form the reception (you’ll also get maps and tips for the best routes).

The sauna in this place is to die for! It was a viewing terrace in the observation tower way up at the 7th floor, it offers the greatest view you can imagine and can house up to 14 people. We recommend you book the sauna in advance.

The standard rooms are comfortable, have wooden floors, showers or a bathtub. All standard rooms are equipped with a safe deposit, hairdryer, wireless internet, plasma TV and phone. You can choose between a twin bed and a queen size bed. The superior rooms have everything the standard ones do, but also a balcony or a kitchenette. All superior rooms have a sofa bed and a queen size bed. If you decide to bring your entire family, you can get one of the family superior plus rooms – all have king size beds plus an extra bed and can accommodate two adults and two children. If you are a private person who likes to relax in style you can book a superior plus room – some have a private sauna. At the top of the floor, lies the master suite with everything you could ever desire from a hotel room – everything the regular rooms have plus a private sauna, dining table for 8 persons, a kitchenette and a king size bed.

In the Local Area

This hotel is in the vicinity of the Botanical Garden at Kaisaniemi (part of the University of Helsinki), one of the city’s most popular attractions. Imagine this: huge glasshouses that house exhibitions all year round. Great for nature lovers and adventurers alike.

Right next to the hotel there is the Hakaniemi Market Square, the perfect place to sample some of the traditional Finnish foods and treats. There are souvenirs galore and all the handcrafts you will ever want. The perfect place for shopping, Finnish style!

If you have a day to browse around and do some sightseeing, consider visiting the Kaunissaari Island (which actually means Beautiful Island) – they have a small zoo and a wonderful picnic café that allows you to warm up your own food and even do some light cooking.

The Helsinki City Theatre is a gorgeous building with amazing surrounding grounds – a park with bike paths and stunning lake. Don’t hesitate to take a few pictures and enjoy the wonderful view, right next to your hotel!
