Probably the greatest historical arch in the world, the Arc De Triomphe stands but a stone’s throw from this hotel.  This outstanding monument was commissioned by Napoleon in 1806 to commemorate, prematurely as it turned out, his victories.  Nevertheless, it stands all its silent glory, presiding over the Champs-Elysees.  The impressive Champs-Elysees itself is well worth a wander down. Used for all major celebrations, from New Years Eve to military parades and the finish for Frances famed sporting spectacular Le Tour de France, this promenade bordered by leafy trees, is dotted with cafe bars, restaurants, cinemas and theatres.  Pick your spot and watch the world go by, whilst absorbing that special atmosphere unique to Paris.

At the far end of the Champs-Elysees, you will find the Place de la Concorde, the largest square in Paris at over a staggering 20 acres! Marvel at the obelisk in the centre, otherwise known as Cleopatra’s Needle, this 75 foot tall monument was given to the people of France in the 1800’s.  The Place de la Concorde is also home to numerous other fountains and statues, all poised and waiting to be seen.

You couldn’t possibly visit Paris without seeing the world famous Eiffel Tower, and at just over a mile from this hotel, why wouldn’t you?  This feat in engineering rises to a height of 984 feet and was built to commemorate the 1889 World Exhibition and the views you are rewarded with from the top make it well worth the journey.
